BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Zach Boswell, Indiana
JR, OF, Berrien Springs, Mich./Berrien Springs

Boswell becomes the third Hoosier to earn Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season after batting .643 (9-for-14) and driving in 10 runs during a 3-1 week. The junior outfielder produced an on-base percentage of .706 and a slugging percentage of 1.214 last week, while scoring five runs and racking up three doubles, a triple and a home run. Boswell opened the week with four RBI, three runs and a homer in a win over Illinois State before going a perfect five-for-five at the plate in a victory over Kent State with four runs driven in and three doubles. The Michigan native currently leads the team with a .458 batting average and boasts a nine-game hitting streak. He joins teammates Joe Kemp (March 1) and Jay Brant (March 15) as weekly League honorees.

BIG TEN PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Myers, Northwestern
SO, RHP, Lake Villa, Ill./Carmel
Myers picks up Big Ten Pitcher of the Week laurels after striking out a career-best 15 batters in seven and two-third innings of relief to allow Northwestern to rally for an 8-7 victory over Cornell. The sophomore righthander entered the game in the second inning with NU trailing 7-0 and runners on second and third with only one out. He ended the inning with two strikeouts and proceeded to strike out the first six batters he faced, holding Cornell to only four hits while walking only one batter to pick up the victory. His 15 punchouts are the most for a Wildcat hurler since J.A. Happ posted 16 K's against Iowa on May 3, 2003. Myers is the second NU player to pick up Pitcher of the Week accolades as teammate Evan Blesoff was honored on February 15.
