Galanakis went 3-0 last weekend, defeating two ranked opponents in dual meet action. The junior 133-pounder, who is in his first season with the Hawkeyes, dominated sixth-ranked David Hoffman of Virginia Tech, 8-4, on Friday in Iowa City. Galanakis scored three takedowns, one escape and a riding time point, while holding Hoffman to four escapes. He then scored a 7-0 decision over Fresno State's Joe Mavins Sunday afternoon in Fresno, California, before defeating top-20 ranked Derek Moore of Cal Davis, 5-4, Sunday night in Davis, California. Galanakis is now 7-2 in collegiate competition and 6-0 in dual competition. He is one of four Hawkeyes to remain undefeated in dual competition, and is tied for second on the team in dual team points scored with 21.

Galanakis earns his first Big Ten Wrestler of the Week award of his career and is the first Hawkeye to earn the accolade since Luke Eustice on February 5, 2004.
